BUFFALO (LGS) — The Buffalo Sabres recalled defenseman Mike Weber from the Rochester Americans earlier today.
With Dmitri Kalinin out at least a few weeks with a MCL sprain to his right knee, Weber could see if first career NHL action Friday night in Florida if Jaroslav Spacek is not ready to return from his sprained shoulder injury.
Spacek did practice fully with the team today.
The 19-year-old blueliner was Buffalo's second round choice (57th overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. In nine games, he has three points and a total of 24 penalty minutes for the Amerks this season.
The Sabres also announced today that the team will work their white road jerseys to four select home games this November when they face the Boston Bruins (Nov. 7th), Toronto Maple Leafs (Nov. 9th), Ottawa Senators (Nov. 21st) and Montreal Canadiens (Nov. 23rd).
The Sabres will also wear their vintage white jerseys for the 2007 Winter Classic Game at Ralph Wilson Stadium. The Pittsburgh Penguins will feature their powder blue vintage jerseys for the outdoor game.
After last night's defeat, the Sabres had a 30-minute meeting behind closed doors before meeting with the media.
