BUFFALO (LGS) — Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced today that the club has returned five players to their respective junior teams.
Forwards Benjamin Breault Breault (Baie-Comeau), Jean-Simon Allard (St. John's) and Paul Byron (Gatineau) as well as defenseman T.J. Brennan (St. John's) were all assigned to their individual QMJHL clubs. Defensemen Drew Schiestel was also assigned to Niagara of the OHL.
The Sabres now have 36 players remaining on their training camp roster.
HD Scoreboard, Broadcast Update
The new high-definition scoreboard is currently being install at HSBC Arena. It appears it will be fully operational when the Sabres face the Pittsburgh Penguins this Saturday for their preseason finale.
After a few e-mail conversations with Sabres and MSG-TV officials, I was able to learn that HD telecasts of Sabres' home games are not just exclusively for Time Warner Cable customers.
Currently, only Time Warner Cable plans to broadcast the Sabres' home games on a separate HD channel; however, I was told by two separate sources that MSG is in talks with Dish Network and DirecTV. Announcements could be forecoming in the coming days.
